CD Drive wont close

Ok so my cd drive wont close all the way and I cant watch movies or play games. Any suggestions besides buying a new one?
 
is it stuck? what happens if you push the tray in?
 
its possible the gear slipped.. had this issue with one of my dvd drives.. had to force it to pull out 1 more gear and then it finally worked.. but do what leSLIe suggested first if you havent.. then try my suggestion.. either way if it fails or breaks it more you probably should just replace it anyways..
 
yea i was thinking about picking one up and replacing it for him. whats a good dvd drive for a laptop
