I agree about the stand, I put 2 pieces of rubber under the stand to try and level it up a bit. As far as colour goes my monitor was a bit too blue out of the box but it calibrated well using the Huey Pro http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k492/rpps/002_1.jpgI just got three of them in the mail today.
Stand is flimsy but not too bad. No problems as far as dead pixels go at all, all three are in fantastic condition.
My only complaint (which is a big one) is that it's very blue. Color is horribly inaccurate compared to my S27a850D. Need to grab a calibrator.
What's special about this monitors?

Okay quick summary: 2560x1440 resolution, IPS screens (better colours), Sub-$300 shipped to your door. Compared to Dell/HP/Apple charging around 3 times that for the same screen.
Obviously there are a few drawbacks too, but those are the highlights.
They are basically Apple's 27" Cinema displays. They are actually rejected panels because they do not meet the strictest standard to be an Apple Cinema display so these small Korean companies buy them up and assemble to sell. Super high resolution IPS displays at an affordable price. I can't wait to get mine!
