As we come into 2017, botnets capable of causing such damage are likely to become a bigger challenge to control, according to Mike Raggo, Chief Research Scientist at social media security firm ZeroFOX. The security expert predicts that in the next year, a "massive" botnet will target and disrupt popular social media platforms, potentially including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

The social media is the cancer of modern society. It's proven to produce nothing but adverse effects to peoples mental health, it's addictive and it robs people from regular socialising with real people. It's like a drug in many ways. You're addicted to it, you gain temporary highs using it, someone takes advantage of you for your use, you get adverse health effects in return. And it lowers anyones IQ if you use it. You're subjected to the absolute bottom feeding filth of human minds when you read the posts and get subjected to the spam of links.

It's absolutely sickening to even think when you analyse it a bit.
