Cat6 Cable Wiring - Which wallplate/keystone/jack/wiring diagram?

Hey guys, my dad got his new place wired up with Cat6 cables. All there's left are strands of copper wires out of the Cat6 cables. He bought this wallplate but from what I've been reading here, it seems like he got the wrong kind - it may be Cat3 jacks instead of Cat5/6. Is that correct?

But my dad is looking for a wallplate where it has an ethernet jack and a cable (TV/Internet) jack in one. Any idea where he could get that?

yeah, no expert but I suspect you will have problems with that first jack. you need one that you punch down. the inline coupler would kind of work, but you will need to build cables inside each wall. which might be annoying. i'd actually go take a look at home depot. they have wall jack plates that can snap in coaux or ethernet like the monoprice stuff you see. it is more expensive but you can get a feel for how it works. you might also want to get a professional, as "problems" are hard to diagnose without the correct equipment, and yeah, it is easy to wire things wrong.
 
Yeah that's an old school wall plate...you won't be able to hold CAT5e/CAT6 specs with that, as you'll have to untwist the pairs more than 1/2". That's a no-no.
 
Get a two port keystone face plate.

Get a keystone coax jack insert.

Then get some keystone Cat 6 punchdown jacks. Follow the color coding on the side for T568 B on both ends.

Those screw terminal jacks aren't network jacks I don't care what anyone says.

Be mindfull of the white wall plates from online sources. A lot of them use the same suppliers and they are not a pure white. I ordered white and half my batch was corect, the other half was an off-white. It mattered for us since everything is white... but for you it might not matter how white it is.

My dad and I will be heading to Home Depot to find some Leviton stuff and such.

@jeffmoss26 We will be having both ends following the TIA/EIA 568B wiring on both ends. This is one of those just in case scenarios - we may put a computer in one room or the other and such. Would this sound appropriate?
 
I was just curious if you are simply going to put plugs on the end and go right into a switch, or use a patch panel.
