I have a i7 4770k processor and a 27" 1440 monitor, only a 60hz model. I really need a new video card as the crappy gtx 660 i have cant keep up anymore.

I am not a hardcrore gamer by any means, but I do play Battlefield 3/4, gonna try the new SW Battlefront. I have Witcher 3 but cant really play at a decent frame rate. Also probably going to get Fallout 4 soon.

I know a 980ti would be great, but also likely overkill for my system, however, I havent ruled it out. What I would like opinions on what card would be best paired with the 4770k.

Would a 980ti be too bottle necked with the 4770? Etc. Was leaning a 970, but then was starting to lean 980ti. I intend on doing a full system upgrade in about 2 years.

So the i7 4770k isn't going to bottleneck the 980ti?

Not in the slightest. You would have a chip slower or older than Sandy Bridge 2600k. Even then the losses would be slight. There are people running i7 920's overclocked to the moon and they aren't bottlenecking a single card too much.

Another vote for single 980TI. no worries about bottleneck specially if you have OC that 4770K.

^^^^ What they said 980ti. I got mine a week ago from jet $536 shipped out the door. Slapped an EK block on it and I'm calling it good for a few years. :D

Some people were able to snag it for less than $300 from tigerdirect, you should've went for three of those
