Can't get Win7 laptop to connect to home wireless network.

Ok, I am a bit rusty on networking knowledge so I might forget to say an important detail or information or even use the wrong network terminology. Don't bite my friggin' head off, 'kay?

Cliffs:
Mom has a new Win7 laptop.

I'm new to Win7.

Laptop sees secured wifi network, but won't ask for password nor connect.

My cell phone and her former WinXP laptop will see, ask for password, and connect to wireless network.

Drove to a parking spot with a strong free wifi signal.

Laptop connects just fine and asks for passwords to surrounding protected networks.

Help.

The laptop is a Dell. We are using a Trendnet router as well.

did you try to add the laptop Mac adress to your router basic setup?

Just an idea but try removing the security on the wireless, connect to it with her laptop and see if it will even connect without it.

let me try:
in the start menu's search box: type Manage Wireless Networks
check if your wifi is in there. if so, delete it and try again.
