I've had an old stereo connected to my computer and the audio has been working fine. Now I'm trying to use the stereo with a TV instead of my computer and it's not working.
The TV has an input to use head phones and I've taken the same cable I've used to connect the stereo to my computer and plugged it into the TV head phone input instead of the computer, and now they aren't working.
The speakers work, but the TV audio is just playing on the TV instead of switching to the stereo.
The funny thing is I've used some ancient Altec Lansing computer speakers with this TV, but my stereo isn't working. The male plug on the Altec speakers is the same as the one I'm trying to use with the stereo except one has two black rings around it and the other has two blue rings. I'd like to use this stereo with this TV and a WDTV, so does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
