Got my father up and running w/ a new Dell pc and monitor. The monitor is connected to pc via HDMI. He had audio for about a month, and now it is gone.
All the basic/easy stuff is right, it is set as the default device on playback devices, volume is at 100%.
Connecting his pc to a HDTV, and to my asus monitor works just fine. Connecting his monitor to my pc, his satellite receiver, and my cable box gives video but no audio.
Spent 2 hours with dell "tech support" and had to let them update drivers and bios despite telling them repeatedly that it is NOT a pc problem as I get sound when I plug the pc into other devices.
Dell has now sent out 2 replacement monitors BOTH of which have the same issue.
Any ideas on what the hell is going on here?
