I have the original sound blaster ZxR cable, the 3.5mm to RCA cable is so poorly build that it broke when I push the speaker towards the wall. i.e., the housing of the cable is weak

So I want to buy a cable w/ better housing, but I can only find this :

https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=5346

and it looks like it has some stupid rubber that merge the right / left channel together. But the photo is not clear.

where do you have a cable that 1 end is 3.5mm stereo and the other end is RCA but w/o the rubber merging the right / left channel?

But look at the 2nd link, there is a piece of rubber that merge the red and the white RCA, so I cannot connect them to the speaker, the speakers are 4 to 6 ft. apart.

Further, I prefer to have these cables braided.

So far, I only find this piece of shit that is NOT braided

and that's how the last one is broken. I push the speaker towards the wall, the housing broke

why do these people have to have that thing that merge the right/left chnl.? I mean, it's not really 2 cables, it becomes 1 cable

I found this, just tell me, will this work from my Sound blaster to my power speaker (M-audio m3-8)?

because instead of RCA, it's going to XLR, would the sound card knows, in short, will it work?

that will work, I am using that type of cable on my ZxR, but you don't need that one since the ZxR has RCA outputs, you would just use RCA to XLR single cables like this,

I try that, I was doing the 2 x RCA Line out jack 1 and 2 to the 2 x RCA of my speaker, and the sound doesn't come out right, I can't remember the details, so I switch back to the 3.5mm jack

you're not reading the original post. It doesn't work for me w/ that piece of rubber, they can't split, as I need to go to 2 speakers, 4 ft. apart

just get the RCA to XLR cables, maybe the ones you had were faulty or what, I don't know, but I am using a set on my other PC to my M-Audio BX5's with no issue.

If you must use 3.5mm to XLR cables, these are the ones I have and have been using for the past 5 years,

what a coincidence, that's the one I mark as well

Do you find a noticeable difference in sound vs. the RCA jack going to your speaker? I also use M-Audio, M3-8

that's a great link. That's what I'm looking for, but I agree w/ you, that price is quite high. it's decision time for me

but you don't need that style as you have RCA outputs on your soundcard.
You aren't using the powered headphone jack to hook up to the speakers are you, or the surround channels output?

I know, I have tried to use the RCA output, I can't get it to work. So I go back to the 3.5mm stereo

I can't remember what the problem is

Well, go ahead and order the RCA to XLR cables and try it again. Or hook them back up if you still have them.
