I've done a bunch of searches and even tried some crappy shareware. I have a file thats listed as a .zip and I want to make it an .iso I go to rename and it doesn't do anything except make it a .iso.zip so what should I do? I want to burn the .iso but nero 7 isn't haven it.

A zip file and an iso file are two different things. You can't simply change the extension and have a valid file.

it's not a zip file thought it was just saved as one

in explorer....

tools > folder options > view tab > uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"

thanks so much

right so it really is an ISO file, but in whatever s/w you used to make the ISO you ended up calling it *.zip and not *.iso (even tho said s/w would of just called the file *.zip.iso)

/me likes the fact that linux file extension are not really needed and wished file existed for windows

as above, expose the showing of the file extension and then change it to ISO

Just like "Imaulle" mentioned....with that option unchecked, your actually renaming the filename, not changing the extension.

The file hes working with, IS an .ISO, but the extension was changed to .ZIP
