We had a virus and one of the problems it created was the inability to double-click a drive (hard drive, flash drive, etc) and open it. Instead, if you double click it comes up with the Open With box and you have to choose a program to open it with. You can get around by right-clicking and choosing Open but that gets annoying.

So is there a way to put it back to the way it was before? System Restore will not do it. I found this on google:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

that did not work.

Any other suggestions? Running Windows XP SP2.

I found a solution. The virus changed the mounting info in the registry. Just deleted the keys and Windows recreated them with the proper info.
