I created a .tif image using the latest build of GIMP. For some reason I can't delete it now.

Restarted the rig......can't delete (nothing happens; no dialogue box/etc.....either with the DEL key or right-click - delete)
Restarted in safe mode......can't delete.
Checked permissions.....my account owns it, and has full access.
Try CCleaner and Process Explorer to try unlocking the file.....it's not locked by anything.
Load up Windows 10 PE from a flash drive to access the file.........can't delete it. Try Unlocker utility....says it's not locked, the program becomes unresponsive trying to delete the file.

It's not huge (58 MB), but it's PISSING me off!

Boot up with a live Linux CD/DVD/Thumb drive and try to delete it.

If that no worky use manufacturer diag tool for drive.

ive got one of those too!! its a folder that will not delete even with a linux usb. if i try to remove it it says item not found. its 5 years bday is in jan.

Have you run any disk/file diagnostics, even something simple like CHKDSK?

sometimes this happens because of bad sectors on the drive. try with chkdsk and HDD regenerator to fix bad sectors.

can you rename it? if so, rename it and then try deleting it.

Sometimes I have luck navigating to the file I want to delete inside WinRar folder directory.
