When I open up the library in WMC the only files it will recognize are VideoTS files. Most of my movie content is ISO which VLC is the only program I can get to play them. I read the registry change here, but don't know if it will work with ISO.

As far as I know you can not get WMC to play an .iso out of the file system. You need to mount it using a utility such as Daemon Tools.

The kb article you referenced will allow WMC to play unprocessed rips (mean you rip the dvd structure off the disc and stick it in a folder somewhere [.vob, .ifo, .bup]) out of your filesystem, its actually pretty neat and thats what I use myself.

You can convert your .iso back in to individual files by unpacking using any manner of utilities . For DVD related stuff DVDShrink is great for this, however this unpacking can be done by most any archiving utility including 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org) which I highly recommend as an archiving tool.

You can always use the MyMovies plugin which will use Daemon tools to automatically mount the iso's.
