Now I know Brent had something like 478w out of the wall, but I'm just wanting to double check if this will work out...

A e6600 OCed to 3.2GHZ, will probably upgrade to a q6600 or a q9450

2x2gb mushkin

ASUS Rampage (kick ass board btw)

4x HDDs, which will be switched into 2x640GB I believe, once i get the cash after the 4870x2 xD

1 Multipurpose DVD reader/burner

X-Fi Fatality Pro Gamer

1x 4850

1x 4870x2, no CF

I'm guessing 500 max load...am I right?

With just the 4870x2, I wouldn't think it would have any problem. With both the 4870x2 and the 4850, you're getting a bit close (but I'd still come down on the side of it working, just not with much leeway); not sure why you'd have both?

The 4850 is bios modified to idle correctly and it'll never have any real GPU load, it's just to power my 2 2007wfps while the 4870x2 powers the 3007wfp that I have

you should be ok, though you are pushing the limits of the psu.

Agreed, I personally have no interest in *getting by* If you can spend $500+ on a video card you can surely spend the funds to get a more potent unit with more overhead.

Well, if your budget was say 500 max, since the 4870x2 can be had for 469.99 from bestbuy, then you technically have no extra funds for a better PSU ^^. Plus I love modular PSUs and the next PSU I'm going to upgrade to is probably the HX1000.

The 620HX can actually handle two 4870X2s fine, especially in a dual-core system (it can actually take around 750W load peak IIRC, although obviously that isn't recommended). A single X2 is well within its capabilities and won't put too much stress on the unit.

hmmm....I wonder if my system can handle 2 of them then, that would save me a lot of trouble :D
