Can someone help me with disabled Apple ID

Hey guys, I'm trying to get my disabled apple id back. I went here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2446 and successfully reset my password. I got the confirmation e-mail so I know it worked. I even wiped and reset my Ipad but I'm still getting the disabled apple id message. I tried calling but they want $35 since my ipad is out of warranty. I tried getting through to any kind of CSR but they're closed in Canada today for thanksgiving. Anyone have any ideas?
