Can I OC my Trident Z5 6000 to 7000 realistically?
I want 8000 ram but worried that it won't go that fast for whatever compatibility reasons. I have a Aorus Master Z790 and wondering if I can just overclock my C32 6000 kit to 7000? What do you guys think? What is the max overclock you guys are doing? Or the normal OC you can achieve with the Gskill kits?

Well it boots up at 6600 and runs prime 95 large ffts for the 5 mins I let it. This is at default xmp 1 settings just changing the frequency to 6600. Anything higher won't boot.

13 series CPU will have a better chance than 12 series so helpfully you also have that.
How far you can OC depends on the exact model of the kit and what memory chips it is using. But even if you don't have a kit that can hit high MHz you can still see huge gains by tweaking the sub timings.

This thread should be a goldmine for you.

I'm on a 13900KS + Aorus Master Z790 with the latest F5 bios that was released on January 17th, 2023.

Thank you for the link. I will most definitely read it.

Have you overclocked your RAM? If so by how much?

Edit lol that thread is 650 pages long fml

can you post your cpu-z ss? for example, this was my ADL setup last year:

To answer your initial question:
if your 6000 c32 kit is having Hynix IC, then it probably can do 7200 c32 or c34 daily

based on the timings, it could be Hynix M-Die, less so Hynix A-Die.
you may try 7200 34-42-42-32 with vdd 1.5v, then try to increase the freq to 7400 or 7600, or try to tighten the primary timings to 32-40-40-30 with same vdd.

Volt MC set to 1.38v, SA 1.1, max 1.2v

I think it is M die because it is 32gb dual rank correct? I just want 7000 but reading a lot of OCers are saying you can't go past 6400 or 6600 max, how sad lol

This ram timings is from one of my friends setup:
Core i5 13600KF
MSI Z790i itx
2x 16gb Klevv 4800mhz C40 (non heatspreader)

He can run that setup daily, and has tested using memtest / TM5 absolute config.
