idk how to modOf course you can change the pads. It may take some modding skills though.
i want to get the hybird thoyou should have to mod anything ..according to AudioTechnia the pads from the M50X fit.. which means whatever fits those should fit the M20's
I have the M50 and a pair of M50X's .. I have teh HM5's on my M50's for now.. (leatherette) not the velours .. they fit fine.. they do change the sound however.. The super deep HM5 pads seem to make everything sound further away.. most likely because of how much further from your ears the drivers are.
while they fit a bit loose I find the Shure 840 earpads to be better w/ my M50X's comfortable without changing the sound noticeably.
if you want velours you might want to consider these on Massdrop right now??
