I got this psu in 2014. Had no issues with it. I bought a 3080ti and the pc would not turn on (psu fan would spin for a few seconds). I tried a newer 750w evga psu and everything turned on.

Is there something wrong with the psu? Or is it outdated and can't handle some of the newer cards coming out?

Thanks

I would say an issue with it. I had a 1300w EVGA and any load over 600 would shut it off. My 850w PC Power and Cooling ran my 3080.

Ok, so I am going to replace it

Is this psu good for a 5800x/3080ti and future upgrades? I think it is but there was a review where a dude stated that it wasn't enough for a 12900k/3090

Thanks

I would go with either the Corsair rm1000x, rm850x or Seasonic focus-gx850 gold from Microcenter.
If you don't mind waiting for shipping. I'd go with a EVGA g7 1000 from Amazon or Newegg for $139. That's the best deal EVGA has on their latest, greatest right now.

Yeah, can't wait. And it has to be from Microcenter

Is 850watts enough for future gpus? I don't mind getting 850 as long as I don't have to upgrade for 2 to 3 years

Thanks

Won't know until the 20th for nv and... I don't remember when AMD is releasing rdna3 specs. If your sticking with your 3080 you should be gtg for the next 3 years but if your future proofing beyond that, id go with the g7 1000 or rm1000x.

Thank you. I found a great deal on the RMX1000 and bought it. Set everything up and it is running great so far.
Very nice psu.

I wouldn't go with anything less then a 1000w PSU is you plan on a high end systems. The 4090 will recommend a 1000w I bet.

Yup, looking like it. I was going to go with 850w but read a few posts and decided against it. Better to play it safe and have the watts when needed, lol
