Hi all. Gave up after a few pages of search listings with no luck.

As title says, can I get 4k on a 4k tv using a DVI-D to hdmi cable? I know DVI-D can support the resolution, but what I havent seen is if a tv will barf at me and not accept the signal since its a dvi cable on the other end. I know this setup works fine with 1080, but I dont know if 4k is wonky enough for it not to work.

The tv will be used only for office and coding stuff, so getting a tv that only supports 30hz is no biggie.

For 4:4:4 colour and not 4:2:0, only if the card already has HDMI 2.0
Because it will then use the HDMI 2.0 output as the feed for DVI.

HDMI 1.x cards with DVI cannot do this.
NVidia HDMI 1.x cards can only do 4K 60Hz with 4:2:0 colour.
I dont think AMD HDMI 1.x can do this, maybe 4K 30Hz.
