I'm deploying Java 6 on about 300 machines via Active Directory GPO. The only thing I couldn't find or download is the java 6 msi file. I googled plenty of stuff but couldn't find an answer.

I followed the directions on the Java site which suggest that I download the java6.exe offline install file (run the installation) and then I would be able to find the extracted .msi file under c:\documentsandsettings\users\localsettings\applicationdata\java......

But the .msi file is no where to be found. I'm at a lost. Can anyone help? I must be doing something wrong.... :(

Thanks.

Im no expert, but wouldnt WSUS cover the most up to date Java install?

Yea I don't know about that because WSUS is strictly Microsoft products updates unless something has change recently. Corret me if I'm wrong...

Well after pulling my hair out for 2 days I was finally able to locate the latest java.msi file.

I downloaded and installed the latest java 6.7 offline install file. I browse to

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Sun\Java

and found the elusive jre1.6.0_07.msi file.

The instructions on the Java site is either inaccurate or old. Time for deployment!
