Call of Duty: WWII

lol, im enjoying the shit out of it.

Will definitely pick it up for the Xbox One X though over the pc version simply because the pc version will probably die out quick and console will keep chuggin well over a year like it always does.

Nothing beats jumping into quick COD matches before heading out. Love it lol.

No dedicated servers = nope. Fuck off already. COD 1, 2 and 4 were the only ones I played much. I played COD 2 the longest bc of MODS and dedicated servers. Hint hint dummies.
I know six others that won't touch it for the same reason. A shame too because I'd love to play the game myself but if you can't keep the cheaters out there isn't much use in it.

Ghosts awesome experience
COD AW Best COD ever
COD BLOPS III Best yet
COD IW short lived but still cool
COD WWII remains to be seen

You trolling there comix? Lol

My friend tried it and said it was OK but no lean was screwing him up. I will just play bf1 thanks. I enjoying being able to die. Respawn as a pilot. Bomb the hell out of the enemy squad. Things like that make it more fun than any other shooter atm.

i gave it a whirl (4 hours played according to steam) but this one is a no-go for me. BF1 just does everything better in my opinion. good luck to those that take a shot on this game and buy it, happy killing.

Sadly he isn't, Comix is our resident CoD fanboy. It does provide some level of entertainment because more often than not he returns to the threads to moan that the player base of each game has evaporated within months and before the latest $DLC maps have even dropped for his overpriced season passes. :ROFLMAO:

Can someone please confirm the exact folder size?

I'm very interested in giving this a whirl but can't really afford another 25 gigs on my measly 256GB ssd....

Thanks!

I may get it just because of the fond memories I have of shutting down bad smg/machine gun players with bolt action rifles in ye olde CoDs.

This is starting to feel like CODs Medal of Honor, spawns are fk'ed and maps are fk'ed.

Thanks, I can make that work....

Well, IMO the last legit CoD was Black Ops II.

No doubt, BLOPS I and II were the last decent games. If I can find this somewhere for a stupid sale I might buy it, but no way would I pay full price for it.

Wow. The game runs like hot garbage.

Hopefully installing the new driver helps....

yeah it ran like trash till I updated drivers, 4k at everything maxed has no problems capping 100FPS.

Yeah the drivers helped a ton!

Also, they really didn't make it clear to scroll down for all the advanced settings lol. There should be an arrow indicator or scroll-bar etc.

Now, everything on high, capped at 60 fps. (not to shabby for my ancient rig)

After just a few matches, I can already tell CoD have been even further dumbed down :(

I understand they have to cater to teens due to consoles, but come on now....

I was committing mass murder and not even attempting to try

So, how do you quit the game outside of Alt-F4? Escape didn't seem to take me to a menu with a quit option.

Anyway, my very first game had a cheater in it. The end game kill cam was very blatant with him killing 4 people in a matter of a second (including me), all at different sides of him, and with pinpoint precision on the head. It's kind of disappointing that it's so early. Typically older games, you could get in a week or so without cheaters.

I have about 7 hours into it so far and I'm really liking the game. I only wish the maps were larger and player count higher, overall though it's back to it's roots, which I think is a good thing. I felt like the last 3 COD's (AW/BO3/IW) were the same exact game with a different title. WWII has a very MOHAA feel to it, which isn't a bad thing IMO.

Performance has been great for my on my Sig machine running "extra" @ 1440P. I'm actually CPU limited with that system. My 2nd gaming PC with a 2600k and GTX 1060 6GB is also running it very well. Both processors OC'd to 4.2GHz. I just pre-ordered it today, so hopefully the PC community doesn't die out too soon.

Ugh hacker infested crap.. I was definitely digging it the first day, and then come today cant even play one game with out a fucking hacker.. Not counting the countless crashes I had for no damn reason today. Ill wait on it.. See how it does when gold hits..

Yeahhhhh, I noticed at least one cheater per match late last night....

Not only were they clearly using aim-bots, but they were completely unapologetic about it. Even going so far as to brag about it in text-chat.

They even had titles like "WHYAMINOTBANNED" and crap like that....

seems like they forgot how to make a PC games (menu, UI, pressing escape)

if you attempt to play this, the first step is to change the FOV.

FOV of 65 on an ultrawide was disgusting. I don't know why they would want to represent their game that way as a default.

Its always fucked when Treyarch doesn't do the games, hence why I usually only buy a COD every other year lol.

Had a couple game today with obvious hacking, I'll just pass even if it were to go on a stupid sale. I mean P2P in 2017?! WTF

My understanding is that it's not actually P2P. It's match making but on dedicated servers. Read something about it I'll try to find a link.

Do you not care about the campaign? That's all I care about. I'm just excited for a next-gen World War 2 campaign. I think this is the first since World at War I think which was in 2008.

I'm not particularly interested in COD campaigns these days.

I can't find hard data, but someone on steam said, P2P for beta and dedicated (Hybrid) servers for release. If they do keep the crappy matchmaking but have it run on dedis like BLOPS II then it wouldn't be so bad.

From what others have said, it's dedicated servers:
The main issue is that people tend to confuse server browsers with being synonymous with dedicated servers, which is not the case. Now, the major problem many of us have had with CoD the past few generations, when it has been dedicated servers, is the low tick rate for this type of game. And that still seems to be the case with this game. I've seen more than my fair share of people sliding across the screen so far. Overall, I'm just not impressed with CoD:WWII at the moment. And I don't understand why multiplayer FPS games have regressed so much since 2005 when it comes to networking.

That's actually worse, lol then why is it so bad....

I've been pretty happy with the network performance of WWII, hit reg seems pretty spot on and I personally did not have any lag

Hackers have already infiltrated the Call of Duty: WWII open beta
The Call of Duty: WWII PC multiplayer beta only launched three days ago but the hackers have already invaded...there's multiple videos doing the rounds of cheaters having their way with other players...

This aimbot/wallhack is ridiculous:

I had one game where you couldn't go anywhere on the Domination map without being killed and couldn't win a single gun-fight. I only had a few bad games in the 14 hours I played online.
It's why my friends and I usually host our own games with bots.

I'm going to try this game before it's over today hopefully I can download the entire thing by then.

I thought it was just my shoddy shooting. Turns out I watched the footage I shot of a few marches. Clearly, very clearly, the matches had at least a few aimbotters each.

Single head shots with almost 100% accuracy.

I won't be spending a dollar on this game

Aimbots are usually Steam vac banned when the game is released or patched out not much to worry about.

It's not a bad game tried one match if they have the bugs ironed out in a month I couldn't move forward WSAD for at least 3 spawns.

Studio head Michael Condrey confirmed in a recent Reddit AMA that Call of Duty: WWII server tick rate will be 60 Hz and the only thing that will be holding back the multiplayer experience will be the network bandwidth saying, “We update packets at 60 times per second in both directions when network bandwidth allows”.

God that is silly why anyone would want to cheat like that is beyond me it would get boring in seconds.

people cheat to grief other players...it would get boring fast if I was dominating every game even if a person wasn't cheating...

Aimbots are usually Steam vac banned when the game is released or patched out not much to worry about.

It's a constant battle between the hackers and online game developers. The hack is banned then the hackers mod it until the new variant is detected. The hardcore hackers use hacked game IDs when they get banned. I think all popular games are targets of hackers. Report the hackers when you see them to detect them as soon as possible. Sometimes all you can do is exit the current game when you realize it's hopeless.

At least Call of Duty has had AI players for the last several releases, so you can play with trusted friends and have control of the server.

Unfortunately, this is why I typically now play FPSs on consoles. And, yes, I do use a XIM, which people view as cheating (although I personally feel they're wrong, and have never actually seen what it can and cannot do), but I'd prefer it if MS/Sony opened it up to native support for keyboards and mouses. Aim assist has gotten pretty good, to the point where kbm users often complain about the overpoweredness of it. And overall, having a locked ecosystem provides a healthier multiplayer experience.

A server browser with admins is the other approach, but I've given up on that from CoD developers.
