Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019

Purchased the game on sale last week for 39.99 from blizzard. After up-teen crashes with the lame ass Dev 6068 error, I just got a refund. So many thread posts on all the PC game crash issues. How u guys playing it? My rig can run the game and fixes like dialing back visuals, turning off ray tracing to down clocking your video card....Seems like a waste just to play the game.....

Only problem I’ve had is the server overload on launch night, other than that not a single issue. Sucks you had crashes, game is fun.

I've been switching back and forth from COD and WoW. Last night I had a great round in COD and decided to call it on a win. Logged onto Warcraft as a healer and man, its just so slow. Click. Watch. Watch. Click. Click. Watch. Not going to lie, but the GO GO GO of Call of Duty definitely has me hooked.

I've been impressed with how stable it is and how good performance have l has been. I play with a 2600x and a 5700. Also played with a 1060 and 2060.

Had a few bumps when I got the 5700 but updating Mobo bios was recommended and seemed too solve any issues.

I will say this the game is very Sensitive to GPU overclocks. Clocks that I can run in benches all day freeze as soon as the game starts. I still run the card oc'd. I just don't push it too hard.

I still run the card oc'd. I just don't push it too hard.

that’s been my philosophy on all my hardware for the last few years. back in the day I would run on the ragged edge of stability but it’s just not worth the hassle to me these days. I’m getting old (apparently) and slowly working myself towards not overclocking at all

I feel like I'm only decent in HC modes as it's basically all just 1 shot kill regardless of the weapon, I like to use the famas on semi auto.

When I switch over to 'core' I generally just can't kill other people as fast and end up with terrible kdr. I switched from mostly kilo and m4 to mp5 and p90 and have been doing better but it just doesn't make sense to me that smgs have better ttk.

I feel like the weapons in this game lack balance in a huge way.

im actually glad there’s a little disparity in weapon balance. I’m a big Battlefield player and after years of them nerfing/buffing everything into oblivion, this game feels refreshing. DICE started heavily balancing weapons in BF3 (at least that’s when I started really noticing it). At first I was all for it but after a while I realized just about every weapon felt the same. As much as I hate being obliterated by M4’s, MP7’s, and 725’s in this game, at least there’s some variety and the weapons feel different.

Finished the campaign finally. Got this free with my 2080ti but passed over it at first because I hated the last couple CoD games. Man, the campaign in this one was spectacular. Graphics, top notch. I am NOT a fan of normal MP in CoD, but I started the Co-Op spec ops mode tonight and I like it pretty well, too. Definitely staying away from the regular MP / deathmatch type modes but Spec Ops is pretty interesting. Amazing though what a far cry it is from the graphics of the SP campaign - everything looks pretty hideous comparatively.

Looks like they've added in a lot of crappy, tiny maps as of late. The worst being a map called "Shipment". Not sure how to embed a reddit video, but check this out:

Exactly my experience. Many times you spawn and instantly die in the exact same spot, 2-3 times in a row. And sometimes you'll spawn in the line of fire of team mates and vice versa. Always nice to be shooting an enemy only for your team to spawn in your line of fire and get killed. They need to remove the new additions. The map is too small and they'll never fix the spawns due to the fast paced nature of the game. The other new ones are fairly bad to.

Seems like they can't go more than a week without introducing some utterly game ruining issues.

I don't know if Shipment is awesome, or totally sucks.

I hated Crash, but I'm adjusting to it.

Vacant sucks. Its like a lousy version of cs_assault.

need to remember to stay out of this thread, the autoplay vids are annoying as hell, especially when a couple ofd them are linked on the same page.

They are not going to change anything to the core game play. They may not even fix spawns.

I don't know how people can watch that guy. Not sure if its an age thing or what. All I can think of is some 45 year old dude showing up at a kid's kickball game and showing no mercy.

I can tell when I play against console players, watching the replays the reticle movement is not quite natural a lot of times.

Is this worth $40 atm??

I loved the original Modern Warfare. (I'm not expecting lightning to strike twice or anything heh)

Seems like this one might actually have more longevity due to cross-play etc..

Thanks your input guys

For me, its a hard call.

As I'm playing I get all sorts of pissed off. But when I'm at work, I just want to play. Its like a shitty relationship where the only remaining thread of common ground is the lousy sex; but, its sex.

It's totally different due to the 64 player maps it's good my brother was impressed played it yesterday on XMAS day.

I've been on the fence, too, but what I see in this thread and the surprisingly good feedback from the bulk of the outlets and on youtube I'm considering this. Some have even gone as far as saying it's worth it just for the campaign. That Special Ops mode intrigues me. I will probably be pretty casual with the online overall.

I played shipment yesterday. It's just crazy awesome lol :ROFLMAO: Insanity (the good kind) ;) I wouldn't recommend more than 2 matches in a row on it though.

best COD since COD4:MW in my opinion.

I folded and picked this up yesterday..

So far, so good. I'm definitely getting my ass kicked and that Shipment map is a respawn slaughterhouse joke.... BUT team deathmatch is still where it's at.

Also, Ground War seems like it might have some legs. I actually saw my sig rig hit 50 fps for a second in this mode, I was like:

Granted, I had rez scaling at 135% so I lowered it to 120% and now it never goes below mid 60's but a constant 75hz /w up-rez ain't happenin'.....

.... My G-sync monitor arrives tommorrow :)

EDIT: What other game-modes besides TDM and Ground War should I check out? (I haven't kept up and thus don't know what modes are popular these days)

i play Domination more than any other game mode. Check it out, it’s fun.

Looks like game has gone downhill again. Seeing a fair amount of cheaters. People who can enter a room and within 1 second kill three people in opposite corners. And twice I've died, respawned and magically got a "kill" 10-15 seconds later. And the weapon damage seems screwed up, head shots no longer kill in one hit, sometimes require two or three in hardcore. And after exiting the game it starts playing a bunch of audio as if you are still playing. Started 15-20 seconds after I closed the game and played for a good 20-30 seconds before I decided to exit their stupid launcher.

State of multiplayer gaming is in such a sorry state. Industry wide multiplayer has been thrown in the toilet and shit on. The whole concept of rolling the dice and hoping you had the same game the last time to exited the application should be illegal.

I haven’t seen any of that and I play quite a bit. Sure occasionally I’ll get killed by someone that looks like they may be cheating, but I know logically they’re probably just better than me. I haven’t seen a single blatant cheater (like the old days of insta-snapping to people across the map). Maybe those kinds of obvious hacks just aren’t commonly used anymore, I don’t know.

I’m not doubting you’ve seen all of that, just weighing in with my completely different experience.

I don't play this game but BF5 has cheaters and a fraction of the player count this game has and they are everywhere. some of them aren't afraid to talk about it in chat. last one I saw was 115-15 on breakthrough.

What absolutely did happen (three times) is I magically got kills after dying, respawning, and running around for 10-15 seconds. And no, I didn't shoot anyone. Kill feed would update later. Yesterday, it seemed fine. The game really seems to vary a lot day to day. When it works the game can be fun, but either there is something wrong with the servers still or some players do cheat. Some of the ones I mentioned had impossible reaction times.

Now I've done well myself. Yesterday in TDM I got 34 kills out of the 75 total (around half) for my own team. So it is possible, but in my instance I would pick people off one by one. Just happened that people spawned in front of me a few times and I came around the corner at the right moment many times. Never killed 3-4 people in a room within 2 seconds when they were on opposite ends.

I will say, the AUG in 9mm is absolutely great. Even with no attachments it is better than many other weapons. Get 3-4 of the important ones and you have an excellent weapon. Keep in mind I am talking hardcore. I got a lot of games with similar results to this one when using it. Had one where I even had a KDR of over 8, but less kills overall, just less deaths.

the AUG with 5.56 mag and long barrel is pretty damn fun too. I’ve been using it with the integral 3x optic and it’s a beast. You have to level the gun up quite a bit to unlock all that though - around level 48 if I recall correctly.

Playing a bit tonight. So far one win and about 7 losses. meh

Once you guys get a weapon to max, do you switch to level something else? I could care less about the skins. I never even bother changing them.

im having a rough night too, I’m just getting out classed. Generally speaking once I unlock everything that interests me (not necessarily the max level) I move on to the next gun I want to play with. I keep some of the fun guns that I’ve ‘maxed’ in my loadouts though, like the AUG.

I use the guns that I like and hope they are balanced. I get the upgrades I want and then don't worry about the rest. I don't like unlocking stuff, much more fun to get some things you like and are good with and use them.

One thing that annoys me is that you can only have three different pre-saved weapon configurations. It isn't enough for some guns, especially since some weapon unlocks turn it into a different weapon in a different classe. Take the M4 for example. The 9mm conversion is an SMG not a rifle, but having one saved 9mm configuration uses one M4 slot up.

If you want I'll post up my best weapon configurations but I mainly play hardcore TDM, so in regular mode these may not be as good. In hardcore the time to kill is less overall so higher rate of fire weapons with a quick aim speed are the key to success in general.

My suggestions off the top of my head:

AK-74 with compensator
AUG 9mm
MP5SD

M4 with suppressor and MCX with integral suppressor works well to.

Well.. one of us has to win.one of us has to lose #sorrynotsorry :D:ROFLMAO:

It's a dirty RNG tactic patented by EA and I'm sure Activision has something similar. Essentially the game changes for you based on skill based matchmaking and does other shit in the background to ensure you never get a consistent experience. The reasoning is to get you to keep coming back with a false sense of trying to improve while the system is rigged against you like a casino. Speaking of casinos, they also hope you buy their lootbox/dlc/skins the longer you stick around.

The only way out of this MP rut is if a team of game devs create a github like free to use MP game that is publicly funded and updated via public code. The down side is of course hacks easily being created for a public sourced game but it's still preferable to the garbage we have now. I'd love to have a BR game that works like Apex Legends but with much faster updates and variations/forks of the game run on private servers that are all 120 tick. One can always dream...

It is so weird to read this and see people not know Shipment from the original MW. This map was always a blast and used for grinding levels quickly. The trick used to be spawn and go prone with a M60 and just lay on fire until you died. We regularly played with 48+ on that map.
