Looks like Activision has finally Guitar Hero'd CoD.
Jim Sterling gave MW3 a 9.5 so when it comes to COD I'm really not going to give him much breathing room. Not surprised he didn't like it , he's been on a pretty big rant against companies like Activision in recent times (with good reason however).
Polygon however carries weight. Its nice to see some brutal honesty applied to this franchise. Its such a recycled game I can't even imagine why they even bothered with a PC version. IW truly doesn't give two shits about its PC gamers , not even including such vital features. I bet so many E-Sports kids are going to be disappointed with the lack of league functions. They should have just let IW make another game entirely and let Treyarch handle the franchise from now on.
But whatever , it'll still sell millions upon millions of copies so it doesn't matter what us PC gamers think of it. We really are not the target audience at all. This is a console franchise now and that's not a horrible thing but they should just bury the PC hatchet.
And of course IGN gave it an 8.8 , I'm pretty sure if it was a tin of dog shit IGN would have given it at least an 8.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is a solid installment, but it lacks creativity and innovation. Its new engine already looks dated in the face of the competition, and it eschews many of the solid concepts seen in Black Ops 2. After Treyarch attempted to expand the established Call of Duty formula with risky campaign and multiplayer ideas, Infinity Ward and friends have ignored the franchise's innovative climb. Despite this, Ghosts still steals the show with more memorable missions than those found in Black Ops 2. And even with the loss of Pick 10, I still played the multiplayer for hours and had a good time.
Expanding on Treyarch's accomplishments could have elevated Call of Duty: Ghosts, but Infinity Ward largely returns to ideas it has been tweaking since the original Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward has always forged its own path, but its formulaic design document has become worn. It's a good book, but it's time to turn a new page.
Fantastic game...
... for me to poop on. Glad I only paid ~40 bones for this crap.
The games hardlock for 6GB of RAM has already been cracked.. The general consensus so far is the game uses just under 2GB of RAM and the 6GB hardlock is looking like a marketing ploy of some sort.. From my own observation checking the process and monitoring total RAM usage before and after starting the game backs up that.. This entire game is back firing so far on Activision and it couldn't have happened to a worse company.
And if Kotaku is currently recommending that people don't buy Ghosts you know there is a serious mainstream backlash happening.

Will be interesting to see what they say about their review of MP.
Why on earth did they hard lock the ram, it will just kill sales. Im still on 4 gig not that i would buy a CoD game. The MP will be garb as usual just a total scrub fest.

For someone who doesn't care for the game, you sure sound like a COD player.
I think they spent all their development budget on advertising and figured their target demographic of 8th graders will buy it regardless of quality.
Next gen gernades baby! Wait till they add PhysX effects with dog fur causing frames to drop to 20 fps.I wouldn't go calling it bad looking. I think texture wise it looks fine.. But it's high res textures on top of the same old game engine so.. Yeah.. There is no reason for it to perform as terrible as it does. I'm not even noticing any use of advanced shaders or anything. Every time a grenade explodes my framerates drop to shit for a few seconds.
lolThe good news about both BF4 and COD:ghosts being HORRIBLE games is that I get to save $400 on my GFX upgrade.
I made the mistake of buying BF4, I am making my buddy be the tester for COD before these asshats get more of my money to spoon feed me the same old shit.

If you consider them asshats spoon feeding you the same old shit, why in the hell would you have your buddy test it? They'll (BF4/CoD) stop spoon feeding you shit, when you stop paying them to.
Crap, I bought it last night and am download it now, hope there are people to play with, I don't normally play the sp portions of these games.
What are the chances of getting a refund for this game if I bought it over Steam? Probably nil?
