RESOLVED -- But who know how??
------------------------------------------------

I receive my comcast internet via a motorolla cable modem. I connect the cable modem to a Linksys WRT54G that feeds multiple computers via cat6.

Yesterday I lost connection to the internet on my computers even thought the cable modem checked out fine. The lights on the WRT54G look like they are working properly. I am not able to ping anything. Norton scan on my computer passes. The wireless router shows up as a valid wifi on my phone.

Internet works if I connect my main desktop to the cable modem.

Any ideas on what went wrong, or how to troubleshoot this problem?

It's a Linksys WRT54G, those things are renown for locking up. DD-WRT helps with this (running 52 days with no restart or issues).

this

you never stated whether or not you tried rebooting your router or if you were even able to connect to the web interface of your router.
When you say you couldn't ping anything, does "anything" include the router and/or any other devices on your network?
