Bypass Win XP logon screen

Bypass how? If you forgot your password, look into chntpw.
  • This is a utility to (re)set the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your NT system, by modifying the crypted password in the registrys SAM file.
  • You do not need to know the old password to set a new one.
  • It works offline, that is, you have to shutdown your computer and boot off a floppydisk or CD. The bootdisk includes stuff to access NTFS partitions and scripts to glue the whole thing together.
  • Works with syskey (no need to turn it off, but you can if you have lost the key)
  • Will detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts!
  • It is also an almost fully functional registry editor!

If you want to get a logon box, hold ctrl+alt and tap del twice.

If neither of these options are what you're looking for, then please elaborate on your original post. I also assume that this is your computer, or one that you are supposed to be accessing.

As M11 stated, please elaborate on what it is you actually need.

If you'd like to bypass the "Welcome Screen" and just use the 2000'esque login screen then log in, go to the control panel, select "User Accounts" then "Change the way users log on or off..." and uncheck "Use the Welcome Screen."

depends on the version of windows you are running.

windows 98/98se hit esc

windows XP if you are the only user on the box then clear your password and it will never ask you again.

other than that you need to expand what you are trying to do.

I do not suggest the "clear your password" option.

Regardless of Windows version, you can autologin via TweakUI, downloaded from MS. There's a registry hack to accomplish the same, but TUI's interface is nicer.
