Starting a build and in no rush. Only buying pieces when I find deals.

I can get the 1950x now New for $650 after ebay code. Should have been $617 but newegg bumped the price up when the ebay code went live.

So anyways right now the going price is $717. Do you guys think in 4 week we could see the 1950x going for $617. Or do you think we are close to a bottom on the 1950x at least for awhile?

If I wait I get into that point where I mind as well wait another month and half for Black Friday. That seems far away though.

Yeah this is why I posted this question.

In that article it says:

"Lastly, we have the Threadripper 1950X, the flagship 16 core part under the 1st Gen Threadripper family. This chip can now be found around $799 US (SEP), however, we have seen online retailers listing it for much under that (Amazon $717).
We can see the price of this part to come close to the $500-$600 US levels very soon."

Going by that article I should be able to get a 1950x for around $550 very soon...

Tough call, grab it now for $650, or wait and see if it drops further.

Microcenter has it for in store purchase at $600 right now, 8/31/18. So, keep an eye on supply. It may drop closer to $500 ~Black Friday.

Well I assume they are not as mainstream as the r7 1700/X's, but those dropped to $160 and disappeared from the channel. You are probably good for a while, but they will dry up eventually :)

Nice! I am hoping for $500 - $550 after an ebay code in the coming month.

With the 2950X launched today, you should start seeing 1950X's being sold online used. If you're interested in used, you might be able to snag one for even cheaper. Wait a few weeks...
