I posted this in the workstation thread but figured I would start a new thread for it. My old room was down in the basement but I wanted something at ground level and also wanted to make use of the door I picked up from work. The door was on the old server room at work so when they built a new room I snatched the door. Here are a bunch of pictures of the build up. A lot of them are pretty crappy as I took them with my BlackBerry.

The goal is to have this room completely powered by solar and batteries. I will also put in a generator transfer switch so it can be run that way also.

Very nice...I also keep a Gadsden in my home office-ish area too

Sweet. I hope to have a basement like that someday. Have a beer man, you deserve it!

What are those sleek silver boxes, and what functions do they serve?

Those are Lian Li cases. The biggest is my data storage server. I don't usually jack around with it to much. One of the smaller ones is a linux server and the other a windows server. Both of which I am constantly messing with.

Rather than constantly update the posts that I have in multiple places on the net I've updated my blog. I've done quite a bit recently. I started playing around with the 12v lighting, got the wiring in for the lighting and added another rack.

I'm curious, what do you do for a living that you need to build a home office? D:

Nothing horribly exciting. I do network security and electronic messaging for a bank.

Sorry the pics are down, I'll work on getting those back up.
