I game mainly. Play games from CoD, WoW Classic, Overwatch, etc... Anything that draws my interest. I will be using this machine to edit home videos and projects also.

What do you guys think? PC hardware is tied to Best Buy due to having gift certs and credits issued.

I vote for option 1. What kind of power supply & Case do you have? Might want to look at more RAM when you get the chance if your doing projects and video editing.

Have you looked at the 5700 XT from AMD? From what I've read, it seems to be better value that then 2070 super in the 1440p realm; saving money is always good if you go with option 2.

32GB ram does sound like a good idea. I have a Rosewill 750w PSU that’s rated at 80+ Platinum from 2012. My case is a huge Coolermaster HAF 922. Im looking to have a smaller case. My Monitor is GSYNC so I’ll stick with Nvidia. I was looking between either the RTX 2060Super or 2070Super. But In the end am going the 2070S route. If my monitor wasn’t GSYNC the 5700XT for sure.

Ah, my bad there. I completely looked over the G-SYNC next to the monitor. oops.

Yeah, sounds like you have a plan. Sandy Bridge to Zen 2 is a substantial upgrade. The 2070 would be quite an upgrade but personally, I would get everything and connect it with the 1080, play around with it and see if you feel any limits. If you do, you know its time to upgrade it. If it still performs for ya, then use it for now, save some more and maybe get a 2080 or something else around the corner.

Good luck.

CoD Wow classic and overwatch are good on a 1080, even at 4k. Reuse what you can, save your cash.

If you want, buy the 3xxx series when they're new. Don't buy this one 14+ months in.

So I went with a 3700x 32GB ram and an MSI B450 tomahawk. Keeping the GTX 1080 FE. Thanks guys!
