I'm coming from a Core2 Duo e6420 socket 775 setup...Considering building up a AMD setup. I need your recommendations for a mobo/cpu/ram combo that comes in at under $300.00. I mainly use the PC for gaming and I like to OC. Thanks in advance.

I just built a Phenom II X2 555BE/ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/ Kingston Hyper-X 4 GB DDR3-1333 for 293.62 from mWave.com

But shop around and see. Their was a deal going on for a Phenom II X4 955BE for 129.99 which is a damn good price.

I recently picked up the following from newegg:
1. Asrock 870 Extreme3
2. Phenom II x2 555BE (unlocked to quad and running at 3.8Ghz)
3. 2x2GB GSkill RipJaws 1600Mhz
This combo comes out to 230 plus tax/shipping, I have been very happy with the performance improvement coming from an Abit AB9 QuadGT and C2D 6320 that I ran at 2.8Ghz. handles games with ease, I can run BC2 on my 5770 at high settings at 1920x1200 where I could run at Med / High with the C2D.

Holy shit, i've got that same abit board! Thanks for the info!

I would really wait at the moment, at least until Bulldozer comes out. If you've got to build now, then the best would be a Phenom II x2 paired with an 870 or 880 board. 4gb DDR3 is fairly cheap.
