Hey,

Been out of the PC era for a bit, due to finacial problems.. And finally came across a bit of extra money.

So.. Im looking for a moderate gaming rig.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Mostly gaming, CSS, Call of Duty MW/2, Battlefield BC 2, mostly
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? $450
3) Where do you live? Ohio USA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU PSU RAM MOBO GFX
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? DVD RW, Case
6) Will you be overclocking? probably not
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? 19" 1440x900 then a Asus 23" 1080P
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Now
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc. Dont matter
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit? Vista 64 ultimate, and probably gonna be picking up Win 7 later

Now that, thats done, heres what I have:

PSU - COOLER MASTER Elite 460 RS-460-PSAR-J3 460W ATX12V V2.31 Power Supply
MOBO - ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD
CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana 2.9GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
GFX - XFX HD-485X-ZDFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3

Going with the 435 Rana, to try and unlock the 4th core, heard pretty good results with the Asus Mobo. If it doesnt unlock, then next paycheck Ill just fork over the money for a 955, and give the Rana to my brother when he builds his rig. And eventually planning on grabbing a better GFX card, when I find the Leprechaun and his gold pot

So, hows it look? Comes out to $454 shipped.

Thanks

Most of the parts you selected look good. But, I would go with another power supply instead of that Coolermaster Elite. For $13 more, you can get a Radeon 5750 which is faster than the Radeon 4850. Also, the Antec Earthwatts is a better more efficient psu than that Coolermaster Elite.

PSU - Antec EarthWatts Green EA-430D for $54.99 w/free shipping. Or, the Corsair 400CX is another option for $54.99 ($15MIR)

CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana 2.9GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core for $84 w/free shipping

RAM/GFX Combo - Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 1600 + XFX Radeon HD 5750 1GB both for $227.98 w/free shipping

Total: $466.96 with shipping

I agree with HG. 1080P FPS gaming will make you want a better vidcard, though. :p

I would go with x2 545 if you are planning to unlock cores as this would give you the best performance boost.

well I went with what I originally posted, and the PSU HardwareGuru, suggested. I gotta admit Im pretty happy.

The 435 Rana unlocked with no problems, and so far is stable.

Thanks.

(guess its time to update my sig)
