so my brother put together a new i5 pc today, and it's not outputting video...
the ram and hard drives and psu are pretty much known good, they came from his prior build.
so it would seem to be either the new mobo (it's an asus) or cpu.
the cpu fan spins up, but again, problem is no video. with either his discrete 6970 (which also works fine and came from his old rig) or the i5 igp, either way, no video output.
as for post codes, theres no speaker in the new case (corsair r500) or the mobo. he tried hooking up a case speaker from a couple of my cases laying around, assuming he was able to wire them correctly, no beeps occur on boot.
anyway to begin troubleshooting this?
