Hi *,

I am just putting this post out here to share info. I googled this before buying the equipment and did not found anyhting on this.

I can confirm that the Brocade 1020 cards work well together with a D-Link DGS-1510-28 switch. I was using Brocade SFP+ modules on both sides.

I was surprised that the D-Link switch accepted the Brocade SFPs.

Best regards, Erik

Have you tried Direct Attach SFP+ Copper Twinaxial Cables? or are you using Brocade 10G-SFPP-SR or similar?

I use the Brocade SFP+ modules. From this listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brocade-57-0000075-01-XBR-000180-10GBe-850nm-SWL-SFP-/181603243773?

I don't have a direct attach cable (yet). I have one on order just to compare performance (and how it degrades if I tie a knot in the cable) but it has not been delivered yet.

I did find out today that I ordered the wrong switch. I have the DGS-1510-28. There is also the DGS-1510-28X which has 4 SFP+ ports instead of 2SFP and 2SFP+. Can be had for 400 euros (500 $).

The switch really performs well if you stick to L2 functions. It seems to struggle with the full bandwidth if L3 routing is used.

If/When you do try and Direct Attach copper cable, The Brocades require Active cables.
