The wife and I received a Dell 1600n multi-function laser printer for Christmas. I want to set it up downstairs wirelessly so I bought a Netgear WG602 Access Point to connect the printer to my Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router[url]

I have my router configured with 128-bit WEP as 192.168.0.1.
I have the WAP set with the the same 128-bit WEP key and 192.168.0.2.

Both have the same gateway (192.168.0.1) and subnet mask (255.255.255.0) on both pieces of equipment.

I have my Thinkpad T40 connected to the access point and I can't ping the router from it.

is what Netgear has to say about using the WG602 for bridging.

I've tried the router's MAC address in all 3 slots in no dice.

Any ideas?

put it on access point mode and add it to the router surely ?!

just a logical guess ...

You need to look for a "client mode" or something along those lines. Those choices, at least the PtoP and PtoMP are for dedicated bridging. A workgroup bridge, or commonly called wireless ethernet bride or Client mode, will associate to an Access Point, in this case your Router/AP combo. In those two bridging modes above those would only associate to other bridges. The repeater only uses the wireless association and repeats it wirelessly. Not what your looking to do.
