So I refuse to pay $100 for the XBOX wireless adapter so I can network my XBOX 360. I do however have a WRT54G running as my homes WAP. The device runs the latest version of DD-WRT. My question is can I add a 2nd WRT54G running DD-WRT and somehow bridge that AP to my main AP?

Basically

XBOX 360 ---> cat5e cable --->WRT54G (bridge) ~~~(wireless signal)~~~WRT54G (main WAP)

yup i think 3 threads bout this in the last few days.

google

That will work wonderfully. I use mine with Tomato firmware which I prefer over DD-WRT.

Another cool thing about DD-WRT bridging is that it can work as a repeater and bridge at the same time. So you can extend your wifi, and use the ports on the back as a bridge.

Just so you know that's not just a feature of dd-wrt, tomato does same thing...

+1 for this solution. Works great with my 2x WRT54G's running DD-WRT v24 SP1. As a matter of fact, I made this setup specifically for my 360 since the xbox original wireless adaptor didn't support WPA2. Plus, I have it set (client bridge I think) to where I can use the switch ports on the bridged one too.
