Borderlands co-op w/ DLC

Question... if I have Borderlands and own all 3 DLC, and my friend owns none of the DLC, can we still play co-op together?

As far as I know, just not the new areas.

Don't see why not, except in the expansion areas of course.

Sure you can, just have him copy your Borderlands folder after your done installing the game and all 3 DLC's.

Except two of the DLCs use CD-keys for online play...

The answer to the original question is yes, no problems at all. You just can't go to the new areas.
