Hey guys, I need a mobo for my 6600 and Crucial BallistiX RAM. Ram is DDR2-800

I want to max overclock, and the RAM calls for 2.2V (not common for ddr2?)

most ddr2-800 calls for 2.0-2.1 and above. check the conroe overclock database in the intel cpu forum before you buy that board for a 6600. only 1 guy is using it. the vast majority are using p5w-dh and gigabyte ds4 . in general the buzz is that the p5b (or most 965 boards) is a good board for 2mb l2 conroes and not for 4mb l2 conroes.
good luck.

I thought someone said once the P5B was good for 2MB, and the P5B Deluxe was good for the 4MB variants.

I dont want to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on a P5W DH Deluxe...

Me neither, but I can only squeeze about 3.2Ghz out of my 6600 on a DS3

no, its not the particular mainboard thats the problem, its the 965 chipset. it seems (so far) to work better with the 2mb l2 conroes than it does with the 4mb conroes. this may change with newer rev boards, newer bios, or newer rev cpus, but its pretty much the rule now. 965 for 2mb l2, 975 for 4mb l2. dont even consider a 570 or 590 chipset board at this time, if you want to overclock. most have been cancelled/postponed anyway.
