There are more rumors floating around today about Apple's “Project Titan.” Supposedly Apple was in talks with both BMW and Daimler to collaborate on the iCar but the deal fell through because of issues over who would control customer data. Who knows if this is true or not, but it does sound like something that would be an issue for Apple.

"Industry sources" tells Handelsblatt that the automakers left the negotiating table over disagreements related to — what else? — control and data. "Apple wants the car to be closely built into its own cloud software, while the German carmakers have made customer data protection a key element of their future strategy," the magazine posits.

Maybe we wouldn't have this problem if people would refuse to buy cars with unnecessary electronic components.

Cars are for driving not for putting useless shit in them to aid in collecting data on the driver/occupants in said vehicle. At this rate everything in life will need EULA before use...

Read a statement made by BMW's CEO recently. He flat out said that very soon his company is going to compete with the likes of Google, MS, Apple, etc, and that he's not planning to be their Foxxcon. Smart guy.

Doesn't everything already have a TOS or EULA?
