Bluetooth Issues Affecting All Android Phones?

Just in the past month or so, I have seen all 3 Android devices on my account start having a lot of BT connection issues. All 3 devices are completely different; Nexus 6P (rooted/ROM'd on the latest 7.1.1 based PureNexus ROM), Moto Z Play (still on 6.0), and Galaxy S7 (recently updated to 7.0). My 6P will consistently disconnect from my car after every phone call ends. My wife's Z Play will refuse to connect to her BT headset until after a reboot and even then it won't sometimes and after re-pairing her headset. My mom claims her GS7 has been bad lately as well, that her headset has been disconnecting a lot during and after calls as well. Only the GS7 has had a recent OS update (to Nougat), otherwise nothing has changed on either of our phones and we were not have any issues like this whatsoever before a month or so ago.

I saw this article on AP a couple weeks ago. They mention it may have been introduced through a Play Services update since it seems to be affecting other phones besides the Pixels. I wonder if that's how it's affecting all of our phones at the same time without needing an OS update? That's why I'm posting here to see if anyone else has noticed similar issues on their phones as well. Regardless, it's pretty crazy if Google has managed to break BT on all Android phones simultaneously through a background service update.

Huh. Yes, Bluetooth keeps randomly turning g off in my Pixel XL. I figured it was limited to the Google Pixel devices, or at least devices on 7.1.1, but maybe not. Hopefully they get this fixed soon.

I mostly use Bluetooth for a Fitbit. So I just notice when. It stops syncing. I occasionally use a Bluetooth speaker but I've never actually had and trouble using that. Just the random Bluetooth shutdowns that seemed to start in early February.

After every reboot I have to turn bluetooth back on my N6. I'm on CM...10?

I'm about to go back to full stock though. If I do it within the next few days I'll report back with my results.

Lots of issues on my Moto X Pure. It seems to mainly occur when going in and out of range of my devices. For instance, I might walk to the other side of my office and when I return it occasionally refuses to connect to my speakers. Either that or it'll say it's connected, but there's no audio and various music programs seem to freeze. Rebooting sometimes fixes it, sometimes not. In those instances I have to turn the speakers off, turn bluetooth off, and keep trying various combinations of off and on until it finally syncs again.
Never had this issue until 3-4 months ago. I suspect it had something to do with an update even if my phone is still technically on 6.0.

No problems with my s5. Used bt headphones for about 4 hours yesterday and a few hours today listening to pandora. Most recent phone update was march 1st. I leave my phone in one spot that has good wifi while I'm doing other shit in the garage and driveway. Whenever I go out of range it quickly resume where I left off when listening to pandora.

None of us really have issues streaming audio over BT, it's all typically during or after a phone call.

My wife's Z Play got Nougat last week though and she hasn't had any issues yet, I think. I haven't either really lately they I've noticed, but I don't talk over BT often, so I'll try it out in a bit and see if it's still an issue. Maybe they've already fixed it behind the scenes just like they broke it. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid and all of this was a coincidental incident, heh.

Only issue I have on my Pixel is BT turns off after awhile on it's own. No other issues at all. Streaming is fine distance is great. Google knows about it and is working on a fix.

I have no issues at all on my OP2. Several BT headsets, bluetooth speakers, and even connecting it to my rig via BT, no issues for the past 8 months. It is rocking Android 6.
