Hi, i recently purchased a Sony DS4 controller to play Rocket League on my PC (Win 7 Ultimate x64) but have been unable to connect it via my Asus Maximus V Formula z77 motherboards onboard bluetooth solution (cabled is fine). I then tried to connect my phone & my wife's tab, but neither would show up. Thinking my problem was with the onboard BT chip, i then purchased an Asus BT-400 usb dongle. Once it arrived i uninstalled the onboard device, disabled it in the BIOS and started again with the new dongle. Still no Joy

Either adapters look good in Device Manager and also the Bluetooth Support Service is started, and set to automatic, and Discovery is ofc on ... what am i missing ?

I have noticed in my Network Connections that my Bluetooth Network Connection (PAN) is "Not Connected" but it is not disabled

..could this be a relevant issue?
I also noticed that when i scan on my phone, it finds both my PC & my Game Controller in seconds

One thing that comes to mind is Bluetooth version compatibility. Unlike WiFi, Bluetooth versions are not guaranteed to be backwards compatible. So if both devices don't speak the same Bluetooth version, then they can't see each other much less pair.

Rule that out first, then report back.

Edit: A quick google turned up this.
