Who remembers 120 MEGABYTE hard drives going for $5,000 and exotic SCSI drive hitting 1500 KB/sec on COREtest?

I remember back i the early 90's building a server running linux 0.99. Initially had 16MB (not a typo). Started needing more RAM. Best deal I could get for 16MB more? $300 or so.

Ok so I once had an IBM PC/AT (before clones were popular). The AST Six Pack allowed me to install an additional 384KB of RAM. That is not a typo. https://astmachines.com/1983-the-six-pack-plus-the-crowning-achievement-of-the-upgrade-cards/

You had to buy the chips separately, which were in DIP packages. Fun, fun, fun.

It always amazes me how far we've come--and yet nothing I use regularly seems any faster than it was on win3.1, lol. Word processing is still word processing and pdfs are still pdfs. :ROFLMAO: Only difference is the order of magnitude of more ram--16GB vs 16MB.
