Hi Guys,
I have decided to upgrade to a new Rig
The only downer is that I still cant get a Intel i5 8th Gen CPU which is making me wonder if I should just wait until next year when some parts and more options will cheaper and more available.
I have contemplated changing to an Ryzen 7 build but just looking at the 8th Gen in benchmark comparisons and reading that AMD is changing it up next year...seems like I should just jump into 8th Gen

Rig's Use:
VR, Gaming, MS Office use also streams to Nvidia Shield.

Onto the goods!

You'll be fine with the i5-8400, especially now that you've purchased your motherboard.

What monitor are you using?

What are the brand(s) and model(s) of your 4TB drives?

Save the GTX 1080 upgrade for when you can afford both the video card and the new monitor. The GTX 1060 is fine for 1080p gaming.

Were you able to find an i5-8400 or an i5-8600K this past weekend?

Do you plan on overclocking your processor?

Man I have not found squat for i5 only the i7 8700...

As far as OCing not a fan of maxing, i do just a tad I have a 2500K now and its lasted this long and still going very strong...Im very pleasantly surprised actually on what it can still do so I want the new Rig to last just as long.

I think (unfortunately) at this point it is going to depend on what chip I can get my hands on, the 8400 and 8700 there wont be a chance but if I get my hands on a decently priced i8600k then I will OC just a bit.

Yeah I have to agree on waiting on the GTX880....very good point!
