any reason not to jump on this? 790GX is similar to 780/785, with 128MB sideport...

going to take this as a small gaming/tv tuner/file server/college dorm machine, need something with more power than my M1330 (T8300, nVidia 8400), going to leave it on 24/7

any recommendation for CPU?

newegg has some cpu+mobo combos

mobo - $70
CPU - <$100
RAM - 2x2GB for ~$40
PSU/case - under $70 total

already have HDD, don't need DVD drive

under $280 for a decent machine, can run GTA IV on low plus some(crysis), add in a gaming GPU if needed later

having a bit of a problem with it. I use Silverstone 600W+PhII720be+OCZplats8500 (2x2G) cant seem to run stable on 1066. Did manual, and auto settings and still no avail. Now only running 800 stable.

yes it has ACC function as well.

This is the same one that they were giving away with the 940be a month or two back? My first one died after a day. The RMA'd one is doing killer.

I wouldn't recommend that Phenom I X4 9150E combo unless you're sure you'll never need single-threaded power. That model is the slowest quad AMD has made and the only good points left about it are the price and the low power usage. Your T8300 is actually much faster in programs that use 1-2 cores (probably 3 as well:( ). The 9750 combo has a better quad but I wouldn't recommend it either because 1) it is the older 125w version, not the 95w, and 2) the price hasn't dropped enough for a Phenom I. If that is your relative budget I would get one of the Regor chips (240, 245, or 250) or maybe the 545 Callisto if you can afford that. Those are dual-cores but they are definitely an upgrade to your T8300 for gaming and both should overclock well.
