I used to not hate Biostar, more just ambivalent. Cheap mobos, problematic at times but often a cheap solution that worked much like ECS mobos. I didn't know they had started selling radeon stuff.

Biostar has decided to sell new rx580 cards in pre-built mining rigs instead of selling them to possibly gamers.

This doesn’t bother me at all. It was companies like Zotac tweeting current gen cards loaded in mining rigs. Of course they took that tweet down quick.

I think I'd rather 2x3090s than 8x580s at this point for the same hash rate. Probably cheaper too.

I've never used a Biostar product that wasn't absolute crap.

That said, if they want to cater to the mining market, that is their choice.

I'm not happy about the market as it is, and honestly, I wish the rest of the world would go the way of China, and outright ban crypto, but companies exist to make profits in any legal way they can, and that's what they are doing.

I failed to see where anyone in this thread commented about companies being our friends.

Business is business.
In the OP, and other threads they have, as well as comments in the linked videocardz article. It's typically amd fans.

Is ethOS well-known in mining circles?
Well-known sure, but not necessarily for the reasons you want to be known for.

It’s a canned OS, that gives you what you need to get started and offers decent support but doesn’t provide anything you couldn’t google your way to if you already know your way around Linux and an online wallet or two.
