I enabled this setting on my motherboard and it increased GPU performance 1-3% (potentially more in other scenarios) on my 4090 in my limited testing. The only information I found online is that it allows full utilization of the PCIE bus and reduces latency.

What does this setting actually do and is there any downside to it?

"With PCIe Gen 4, to achieve full bandwidth, an adapter should support 10-bit extended tags. This allows for a 3x increase over the previous number of non-posted requests, allowing the adapter to achieve more performance. Not all PCIe Gen 4 devices support 10-bit extended tags and can cause issues during boot."
I need to try bing more often. I guess I'll do some random testing and see if I have any issues over the weekend, no issues with booting and running benchmarks.

Eh after further testing, I think the 1-3% performance change was variance between reboots. Also tested NVME performance and saw no difference.
