This will be up in the afternoon. Judging from the picture in the Shell Shocker preview, it's the BFG 9800 GT 512MB low-power version, model BFGE98512GTGE.

This could possibly be nice, cheap physX card depending on the price. I'll update the thread with the actual price when it comes up.

edit:
$80. Decent deal, not really hot though.

considering that you can get a 8800GT for around 60 buck plus shipping (new or refurb) that needs to come down quite a bit before I would bite.

Looks like two of these can edge out a 260. Perhaps not worth the hassle/support outright to make it work, but adding one would be a cheap way to upgrade if you're setup for it already.

Hmmm... depending on the price I might pick one up for PhysX. Think this would compliment my 5770 well?

I don't think ATI and nVidia mix out of the box. There's probably some help for this elsewhere on these forums.

Nvidia has gimped there drivers so that if they detect an ATI card, they turn off the Nvidia one. LAME!!!

IIRC, there's a patch or work around in Windows 7 that will get physx to work with ATi cards... haven't tried it myself yet.

Might be that step up from a 7900 GS I've been looking for, then hold on to it if I want PhysX later.

Funny enough, I am thinking the same thing (step up from a 7900GS). I really want HDCP and better Purevideo HD decoding, besides that the 7900GS is still a beast for the games I play.

Hey GUISE do y'all be realizin dat this is THE BEST
Performance per WATT?!

Sure you can get an 8800GTS or 4850 for this price.
But those all have a PCIE power adapter.

This shit doesn't.
This shit is low voltage.

If I were you, I'd buy 3

How many of us have a friend who kinda wanted to play some games on his DELL/HP/POS craputer, but can't due to IGP or a pos gpu?

You can't buy him a 5770! His PSU is only 350W!!

9800GT low power FTW to da resQ!!!!!!!!!!!!

w0rd.

the g92 is on its last legs, as far as next gen games go. i think its only lasted as long as it has because nvidia is a turd company.. and ati isnt dumb enough to sell 5850's for $200.

So, being this is a low(er) wattage card with no PCI-e power connector needed, would it make for a good PhysX card, or does it not have the ponies to handle that?
