BF2 Patching failed error ! plz help

I just installed Vista Home Premium on my PC and when i installed bf2 everything seems to work great until i tried to patch the game ( BF2_Patch_1.41 Full ) and recieve a patching failed error just when its about to finsh installing !!!

I did all the vista updates and video card updates too !

You might have a corrupted file. Re-DL it.

If you look up EA at Yahoo finance, you can find the telephone number for the company. Then you can call and you'll get the switchboard. Just ask for tech support. I recently did this to get my "invalid cd key" error problem solved (my manual with the key went missing--can't reinstall without it). Of course, I had to go back and forth via email several times, and ask for the problem to be escalated to get my resolution, but to their credit, they took care of me.

I'm not saying its not an issue but i have had the good old patching error twice in my updating history of BF2 and both times the patch actually installed correctly. Have you tried running the game?
