BF2 Keybind question

I"ll make this simple because I'm sure everybody has had this problem I just can't figure out the answer. I want Left Shift as my crouch key, yet I can't and it drives me crazy. Ideas?
 
You can't because it's being used by another *function*...you'll have to find what it's being used for, then bind it to a key on your keyboard that the game is not using, then bind shift to what your plan is for it.

binding keys in BF 2 is a total hellish nightmare.....just takes patience :p
 
Well I went thru the .con files and deleted all the vehicle controls and had Left shift binded in the menus but it still will not crouch.
 
Here's what ya' do.
Start the game...go into the options......change which ever function is being used to a *period* or some key that is not already bound.

Once that happens then you can bind*crouch* to shift............

Hmmm, shift is your RUN key........now that we know that, follow the procedure above...good luck!
