According to the Wall Street Journal, Jeff Bezos is taking a hands-on approach to running the Washington Post with his main focus being the "customer experience."

“We looked at the problem and I told Jeff I thought we could improve the load time to maybe two seconds. He wrote back and said, ‘It needs to be milliseconds,’” said Shailesh Prakash, who heads the Post’s technology team as chief information officer. “He has become our ultimate beta tester.” Mr. Bezos helped solve the problem by suggesting loading low-resolution images onto the app first, allowing the page to load on readers’ screens more quickly.

Really? It took a CEO to tell you to use low-res images for faster load times? Do your web devs know any of the basics of modern web design? Or did Bezos also suggest using CSS 2 or 3 instead of CSS 1? Did he teach you about that new-fangled "responsive" page layout all the kids or talking about? Maybe he even threw around those fancy new buzzwords, "mobile first". (What's that all about?)

So glad Bezos is helping people to see those "15 awkward photos of world leaders that explain 2015" just a little bit faster. Good ol' WaPo.

Wow, use smaller images so the pages load faster.....welcome to 1994....
