I just picked all my parts for my HTPC and hit the order button on Newegg.

What do you think?

Off the top of my head I do not think that the chipset supports all of the hd audio codecs and or does bit streaming of hd audio, if any of that is important to you then you may want to look at an ATI5xxx card. Otherwise looks like a decent build.

I'll agree with this point, also you might want to consider another case. My personal experiences with the Apevias has been a bad one.

Never had Apevias case before.

My last two cases were COOLER MASTER Elite 330 and DYNAPOWER USA 86B2.

Both of them got mixed reviews just like Apevias X-Master so I'm hoping for the best.

I assume if I can't get audio working properly via HDMI then I can always use the built-in optical output, right?

I see a dead PC in a few months. Apevia rarely bundles good or even half-way decent PSUs in their PCs. Their PSUs are pretty damn shitty:
Apevia ATX-AS500W-BL
Apevia Warlock Power 900W
XQPack's Included 420W PSU
Aspire Beast 680W Power Supply

So in other words, I recommend replacing the PSU ASAP. I recommend this PSU:
$50 - Corsair 400CX 400W PSU

onyxbfly was talking about how that chipset and particular mobo at most only supports 5.1 audio via HDMI.
