You say that and yet all of you "get thicker skin" folks are the ones that get super triggered whenever someone doesn't want to deal with your shitty attitude.
Haven't spoken to anyone online since 2009, when I owned consoles. Started PC gaming and I only use the chat screen.
I get where things are going in the match and I flow with it. No need to listen to people whine.
For everyone here saying “that’s just gaming culture”, well, maybe it shouldn’t be. Maybe we can all be better as a species and not be total assholes as soon as people don’t know who we actually are. Are people these days way too soft and probably need to man up? Yes, 100%. Does that mean companies like Bethesda need to, or should, tolerate griefers creating an environment in their game that makes people (who apparently have decided it doesn’t suck ass despite popular opinion) no longer want to play? No.
How about a simple setting in the game. Troll or troll free zone, or a selection box for what type of players you want to be around. Id love to not play with 10 year olds, or people who are "so high right now".

How about a mute button? or /ignore.
Oh wait those are all there in almost all games...
That independent study by RAND showing them as a higher cost and potential risk might have had something to do with that...
The RAND group also said we were winning the Vietnam war and it would be done in less than 2 years....see how well that turned out. But go ahead, pick data that agrees with your viewpoint and then use it as a club.
No, you judge a situation based on skin color.
Let me tell you a story. I used to be bullied by a smaller kid in 7th grade from another class. He'd always come in the breaks and harass me. This went on for about 3-4 months when during a break he came at me again with the typical grin on his face, and something snapped in me. I grabbed his shoulders, threw him at a wall, and started to kick the living shit out of him. He never tried to bully me ever again. Now imagine had this happened in the time of smartphones and cameras, and someone would have recorded this. What would you see? A slightly larger kid kicking the shit out of a smaller kid for no reason.
That's fucking why you can't judge a situation like this either way. Whatever you feel happened, is just that your own feelings projected onto reality. It is not fact, and not evidence.

Ultimately Bethesda has the right to run their private service as they see fit. I have a right as a consumer not to purchase their services/products if I disagree with them. I didn't buy their product for a couple reasons. A: the product sucks. B: censoring people, I believe in complete free speech even if offensive or abusive. C: No steam.
Personally I'm not one to care about feelings, and I think most people are far too soft. If you can't handle people saying mean words you need to grow up quite a bit.
Exactly. Which is why I only play SP games, exclusively.
pretty soon we'll see Safe Space DLC's available for purchase. It'll be where they can go there an not get offended at playing an online game while playing an online game.
There is no doubt about whether terrorism is right or not.
I know enough about Tommy Robinson, sure he has some extreme views most of which I disagree with, but he's not the pure evil he was painted as. Being on the right is not a crime last I checked, even if the sjws would very much like that to be the case.
Yes they would, then why won't you?
It's not logic, it is a whimsical assertion. Both makes you feel something, but feelings are not facts, and shouldn't be used as evidence of something. I can't go out and burn french flags because they make me feel bad either. And I don't go around hating people alive today for injustices of the past perpetrated by people of the same skin color/nationality.
Oh, you're one of those lunatics. Nobody is oppressed in the UK/US in the current day and age, except for free expression. But if SJWs would have their way they'd make everyone who disagrees with them oppressed. And I know it is an inconvenient fact for them, but not all non-whites are on their side. They hate them "race traitors" even more.
It's commendable on his part but completely unrelated to the argument.
He should apologize for overpowering a kid with a broken arm, nothing else. Would apologizing for racism make him any less of a racist if he in fact is one? So why would that matter?
100% agree.I do feel everyone should have the freedom to be an asshole, just wish they wouldn't do it. Controlling people does not make the problem go away, it just bottles it.
That said, I have probably 95% of my games set for friends voices only or none if that option does not exist. I was annoyed at the loud music people blast into their mics or the cussing kids so I just muted everyone so that I could enjoy my gaming experience.
That and I usually have music playing so there really is no room to hear anyone on voice lol.
How the hell is this thread so long?
